Read Time: 4 Minutes
Imagine what it would be like if you could transform your day into the ideal version of yourself.
Spiritual healers, yogis, and life coaches preach that “If you manifest it, it will come,”
I call bullshit.
Through intentional design, we set and execute on our desired goals and tasks.
Every. damn. day.
It might take a while until its truly ideal…and thats okay.
The key is to keep making 1% shifts until you get there.
In this article, I’ll share my 5-step to compound confidence towards your Ideal Day.
Forget the pen…save this article to Pocket and start highlighting your takeways so Readwise can send em to your Notion account.
Step 1: Set A Schedule - Use the Calendar Availability
The first step to planning your ideal day is to set boundaries around your schedule.
Figure out what activities are important to you, as they relate to your values.
Do you want to meditate in the AM?
Do you go to the gym?
What time do you want to work?
Once you start to figure these out, use a Calendar application to block time towards each of these activities.
If you don’t want to take calls until a certain time in the day, set up your availability to reflect that. Just make sure to openly communicate these limits with clients (or your boss).
After you figure out your schedule, it’s time to set goals and intentions for what you want to work on.
Step 2: Set A Goal
Do you set Goals daily?
Sometimes its a checklist of 5 tasks for a project
Sometimes its a daily habit.
Either way, through setting and executing on your goals, you build self-esteem.
Use tools like Notion to check your tasks or Apple Reminders for recurring activities.
These “targets” give our brains something to focus on throughout the day.
Left unchecked, our brains might drift to the millions of things we can worry about that are totally out of our control (like inflation, the stock market, or worse….the aliens)
Crushing tasks is another component that compounds our confidence.
Next we got rest time
Step 3: Make Time For Yourself
Ever since the industrial revolution, humans have been working longer hours in the office.
Ever since the digital revolution, humans have been working…non stop.
The anxiety from longer, non-stop working erodes confidence, energy, self-esteem, and more.
The 3rd step in compounding confidence is to take time for yourself.
Walk in nature
Sit in silence
Turn off your phone
Disconnect from the matrix to relax your brain from the overstimulation.
Coming back to work after some time off, you will feel fkn refreshed, and have utmost clarity.
Step 4: Plan Ahead & Be Prepared
At the end of your day, get ready for tomorrow.
Analyze what you learned throughout the day and communicate with your collaborators on any adjustments that need to be made.
Think about what insights you learned today that could inform tomorrow.
Do you know that you have a meeting at 6 AM? Perhaps grabbing a drink this evening isn’t the greatest idea.
Through planning ahead, you will be prepared to continue compounding confidence the next day.
Lastly, we’ll dive into learning
Step 5: Reflect
Life is an ongoing feedback loop.
You are constantly learning and adjusting as you go along-even with how you want to live out your days.
Through regular reflection, you have the freedom to choose:
- what you want to start
- what you wish to stop
- what you wish to continue
Through regular reflection, you create the space to design the ideal day to continue compounding confidence
What structural changes can you make today to begin to manifest your ideal day/week?
